The Amherst Little League Baseball Club is a registered non profit society and has been providing the youth of Amherst Nova Scotia, the opportunity to play baseball for free every summer since 1955. It began as a modest program of two teams and a couple dozen players who played on the baseball field behind the old Amherst Regional High School and the present home of Spring Street Academy.
Since those first few years, the league has grown by leaps and bounds to the program you see today. Today the Amherst Little League is located at 47 Croft Street. The organization now has two Little League sized baseball diamonds, a T-Ball sized field, a two lane batting cage and a two story clubhouse.
From the initial years of a couple dozen players, the number of youth has grown substantially from a couple dozen with over 300 youth from Amherst and all of Cumberland County
The most amazing part as that throughout all those years and the growth, the Amherst Little League has remained a free program. The only one if its kind in Nova Scotia and potentially all of Canada. The only way we have achieved this is through the continued support of our Sponsors and many volunteers.
The Little League Wall of Honour was created to acknowledge individuals and groups who have made the organization what it is today.
Each year the nomination committee reviews all candidates and inducts volunteers and sponsors onto the wall
